This week, we invite everyone interested in modern and ancient epigraphy, and currently present in Vienna, to a talk by Pawel Nowakowski at the station of the Polish Academy of Sciences, titled “Talking Cities: The Ancient Roots of Modern Street Art”.
The paper will present our project to a broader audience and will elaborate on the issue of inscriptions as a cultural phenomenon, paying particular attention to the motives driving the authors of inscriptions and the presence of inscriptions and painted works of street art in today’s cityscapes.
The paper will take place on Thursday, 23 March, at 6:00pm, Boerhaavegasse 25.
