A digital humanities workshop with Dr. Gabriela de Tord Basterra

On Friday, 19 April, a digital humanities workshop was held at the Faculty of History, led by Dr. Gabriela de Tord Basterra (Universidad de Zaragoza / Universidad de Barcelona) on the occasion of her research visit to the ERC STONE-MASTERS project.

The speaker delivered a lecture on “Digitalization and Protection of the Rock Inscriptions from Villastar,” during which she introduced the audience to the secrets of documenting rock inscriptions. Then the practical part of the workshop began, during which students of “History of Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations” programme made their own 3D models using the Agisoft Metashape software purchased by the Faculty. The workshops were so inspiring that the group decided to use the acquired skills to make 3D models of interesting monuments that they will see during their May tour to Athens.
