Last year, Pawel was invited to publish several late antique inscriptions from a recent survey in southeastern Türkiye. The paper "New Christian Inscriptions from Southeast Cappadocia" co-authored with Ferit Baz (Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi) and Emre Macit (Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi) is now out.
It presents seven inscriptions from the district Saimbeyli and the city Comana/Hierapolis in Southeast Cappadocia. The inscriptions are rich in quotations of biblical texts, among them: 2 Corinthians 1:3; Matthew 26:13/Romans 1:8; Isaiah 12:3; Psalm 28(29):3; and Psalm 131(132):14. Additionally, they bring us a new attestation of the era of Anazarbos, and an attestation of a periodeutes. The paper is available in open access from the new website of the Philia.
